Creating artwork has been a source of pleasure for me. While I am working
on a new piece I tend to forget about everything else and time seems to go
by quickly.
Most of the imagery that makes up my work comes from nature and form.
I use a traditional camera and the internet to get my ideas flowing. i like to
think of my work as appropriation art. I don't try to create a series of work but
I think each piece of my work has a similar personality. I like to combine
images in a collage fashion, cut and paste creativity. This combination
creates images I would not think of otherwise.
My technique combines emulsion transfer, which I have developed over
the years, and acrylic paint onto various materials such as wood, metal
and canvas. My work is held by myself, family and friends.
My background includes twenty five years as a graphic designer and
creative director in consumer packaging and brand management.
I received a BFA / Visual Communications at Northern Illinois University in 1982.
